Hi!

My name is Bang, i'm 18 and like to draw. My aim is to be good at technical skill and works on commercial production and concept art in the future. I'm not sure which one will fits these criteria, would it be fine arts or illustration or...?

Anyways, I'm moving to Holland in mid July, and wondering if you guys know any good art school there? So far, i found two: http://www.hku.nl/studie-en/ http://www.kabk.nl/

Which one u thinks better? Any other good one that i should know? Sorry if i'm being too vague, just tell me and i'll provide you with all the requested information.

p.s: (thanks Edraket for the link and all those help, you are the best human being ever)

I'm moving there with my parents for a bussiness trip. Its also about the financial thingie, if my parent is in the same country as the school i attend, i won't have to pay $15,000 per year.

DAMN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT DISCRIMINATION I TELL YA.

I guess I have to say, watch out for the "fine arts". It could well mean you're free to study a whole lot of things, except traditional drawing and painting, because they don't really offer courses in that. But anyway everybody prefers working on conceptual videos, sketchy little paintings with '80s cultural references, fun performances and edgy websites with noise as background music.

I have nearly first-hand information, since my girlfriend goes to the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, and that's the situation there I'm pretty sure it's the same with other Scandinavian fine arts schools, and probably in other European countries as well. Fine arts simply means contemporary art nowadays, so if that's not your thing (which seems likely considering you're in this forum ), then you probably want to look for illustration instead.

Holly shit SFR, you've probably saved 4 years of my life there. Yes, i want to do realistic stuff, i want to learn about human anatomy, color theory...etc, hopefully that will be covered in Illustration.

Thanks sooooo much for the helpful advice, it was exactly what i'm looking for.

Love
- Bang
