I like the background. Areas to work on are the pants and shoes area. Better defined ground/plane that he is standing on. Maybe more dramatic lighting. The head on the figure does not look right to me.to small or wrong postion.
I really like the figure, even though there are some things wrong with it. It still has some kind of charm to it. nice. |

I agree, Lovely structure in the background.
The head should probably be a little bigger, and the neck seems a little bit too long, and too wide at the base in my opinion.
The area under his right breast look a bit flat, and the shadow is a bit sharp. Same thing with the ribcage, the shade is a bit too sharp here too I think.
I _really_ like the figure though, it would be great to see it finished.
my 2 cents

Thanks a lot for the replies. Cant take too much cred for the background Im afraid, just a cloth photo that I edited..
basement bound: you say I need to work on pants and shoe areas, and I agree but not sure whether u suggest just working more on the texture or the actual shape. better defined ground plane, definately.
the lighting is what I thought needs to be improved most. I should have started out with more contrast and defining strong lighting earlier.. and the head, looks flat now that I look at it and yeah he prolly shouldnt be able to hold his head down that way.
thanks for the compliments too.
elvis: agree regarding head and neck. I was aware of the sharp defining of the ribcage, dunno why I let it stay that way..
thanks! |

The shoes just don't match the rest of the picture, imo. Maybe do some thing funky with the bottoms of the pants. GL |
