I know that Enayla writes, as we've seen the text that accompanies her paintings. Does anyone else here write?
I take writing as seriously as I do with art, photography, music, and film. I wonder if anyone here wants to talk about writing and maybe read each other's work and share some thoughts?
If not, I'll just go hunt down a writer's forum, but I havnt' had much luck in the past finding a good one. |

I write short stories and I take it pretty seriously. Not to the extreme, but I'm often really troubled and just generally pissed off if I have a writer's block. Which I often have. |

I've written some in my life, most of it utter crap... now I have a screenplay I wrote on my site, (click 'Script'), it's not as bad as some of that other shit... still working on it though. The ending - yes I know now Lake Geneva hardly ever has ice on it, I'm thinking about relocating that scene to Stockholm.

me. I want to be a great author but considering my general neuroticness and tendency to blunder cosmic chances in my life for no apparent reason... I'm-a screwed. |

Thanks for the link seethemd!
I guess you know this already, but to anyone else interested out there, the best book on screenplay writing I've found so far is Robert McKee's "Story", found it thanks to Sumaleth!
If any writer here hasn't read it, rush to Amazon and buy it!!! NOW!!! |

Hehehe. I've read some horrible screenplays in the past(I worked in independent film).
Steven, I'll read your screenplay. I doubt it'll suck. But if it does, I'll be honest about it.
I read an old book on screenplay writing for movies made for television. It was 50% about writing, 50% about the business side. Pretty informative and effective.
Of course, the best way to learn/improve is read lots of good screenplays. Nowadays, you can download jsut about any screenplay off the internet. |
