Hey!
Nice to see some people actually doing traditional work. God start, but you definitely need to keep at it. Watercolors are tricky at first.
1. The trent Reznor...The silhoutte doesnt read very well. Before you just pick a reference shot, you should really make sure that all of the contours read well enough so people can tell what it is. I always thought of NIN as dark edgy and kinda maniacal, I dont think the trippy vibrant back drop is a good choice, it only confuses the strange silhoutte even more.
2. The landscape...Watch your edges...where objects meet, and where objects stop...they need to be clear...some of them just disappear. You also need to keep value in mind when using color, all of your colors look staight from the pallatte, this is generally bad, unless for a specific reason, try to mix every color individually. More details...and less muddy colors in the sky...you cant out a yellow over a blue without making the sky green, and you cant put yellow over purple without making brown..they are complimentary colors.
Hope this helps some....if anything is confusing please say so,
Take Care, and keep painting
