I was going for something else and failed miserably. I always try to do too much. Any suggestions on lighting or areas to improve would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with your rendering. The actual drawing and paint handling is good. Texture on the robe, metalic speeder all fine. I would crit the composition more than anything else.

The crossed diagonals of the speeder and the mountain (and the sandguy's stick) point right at that small bantha in the background. (Also the brightest light is in that same area.) This is a lot of compositional attention pointing at something other than the main subject, which is not usually what you want.

Additionaly you have an awkward tangent where the sandguy's head is right lined up with the cliff. Look out for these accidental alignments and put the figure higher or lower next time, so his head and the ridge don't form one contour.

Nice painting though, don't take this crit as negative - a second eye always helps with composition...
