Hi guys... It's been a long time since I've posted anything. Here's a sketch I did from way back when. Your welcome to color it if you like. Crits welcome.
Cheers.

I think this is cool, i like your wings. I've recently been doing several sketches of 'characters' with wings, but i suck at! i'll have a go at colouring it, mind you i always say that.
[edit] - I like the little perch thing too, nice touch!

Nah, the pic is still there, it's just that geocities doesn't allow remote linking of files. I like the pose, and the wings too... If they are from somewhere else, I at least like the way you've combined them together. |

ahh well unless its proved to be ripprd I won't take stneils word for granted.
As it is it looks pretty cool, I like the pose and wings. Some bits of the anatomy look awkward but what the hey, would be nice to see this painted =) |

No you didn't.
Can't you get anything straight, stneil777?
That is a pose from "Drawing the Head and Figure" by Jack Hamm. :P
shawncollette: I like the form and flow of this image. The way the wings sweep with the natural curve of the body is nice...Although the wings look kind of...ragged maybe? Good start though. |

Hi guys.....
Visigoth wins the cigar!! I got the book Drawing the Head and Figure" by Jack Hamm a couple of years ago and drew every figure in there atleast ten times.... When I would practice drawing the poses I would add other things to it to make it a little more intresting. I believe I got the idea for the wings off a spawn cover done by macfarlane and another artist. I threw the perch in there for god knows what reason... I've tried a couple of times to color the picture but I get fed up when I get a couple of hours into each time.... anyway it's nothing great just a sketch.
I was thinking about making a "real" attempt at painting it and adding armor to the girl. And have long blonde hair the flows over the face. Any thoughts or ideas about painting this pic would be welcome.
Cheers and thanks for the crits. |

Hehe As far as suggestions for the drawing... You've put a good amount of effort into the wings, but there's no detail in the face or body... I'd say smooth out the anatomy on the body, and start drawing her armor and facial features... One thing I try and remember with my art, is "less is more" -- the more feeling, or atmosphere that you can convey with fewer strokes, the better.

I agree Vis. and that's a problem I have with my artwork , i'll put a lot of time and detail into certain things only , I believe to make a piece of art complete you gotta give every aspect the same treatment. |
