Hello there!
Finally these Forums are up again!
I postet my last work at: http://www.geocities.com/icubus2001/pics2.html
Its a comic-like version of a pic of Angelina Jolie, which I did in Photoshop with mouse only. (Time to get me a Wacom!)
I am not quite sure how I can make this a little bit better, so if you have any advice, please tell me!
THX

Whoa that's cool. Please tell me you didn't do that lineart with the mouse, thats unfreakinbelievable. In the lineart it's really flawless, I'm not sure where she's looking but her eyes look the smallest bit off, if she were to be looking at us her right eye would be up and to the right a little more. Anyway, no real crits with the lineart. The main thing is the color choices. Everything looks -really- MS Paintish. The black lines are way too rough and pixelated, smoothing them up would really make a different. I don't have much beef with the hair or the pants, except that the highlights are much smoother than on the skin. With the three tone shading on the skin, it doesn't look very 3d and looks kinda like a really flat photograph with bad JPEG compression. Just that there should be more midtones, and lighter highlights with darker shadows where they are needed. The skin thing is really my opinion though. The background colors clash kinda also, I don't like the maroon and orange with the picture. I think something lighter than the maroon would bring out the black in Angelina (cause there's a lot of that) and maybe instead of orange, well maybe just experiment around. Anyway most of this is just my opinion, the #1 crit is to make all the lines less jagged. Great drawing |

Thanx!
To Timski: Yes I did the lineart with mouse... With the eyes, you might be right. Ill try to fix that. About the black lines... thats just because the pic is (in mysterious ways) not displayed in its original size. Originally its 1280x1024 pixels and the lines are pretty smooth. But since this is one of my first posts, I was happy to have it online anyway.
I tried to make it look a bit comic-like, so I didnt want to use too much different colors in it. Ill try some more anyway.
The BG might be not too fitting.
Thanx a lot! |
