I was just painting myself in paintchat. I didnt use a mirror or ref pic....so I know it doesnt look EXACTLY like me...but I think I came pretty close on likeness due to the fact that I was drawing myself from memory.
Anyway here is the paintchat pic of me (I would have done more with it....but some reason it locked up and my machine froze...couldnt finnish it)
Anyway, Here is a picture of me...so you know what I look like:

Never read any paintchat rules....never seen any....never even heard of it, much less read it ANYMORE.
You should keep your flames down to normal things like "Dont post porn here!! This is a drawing forum! Didnt you read the faq for this message board before you posted?!"
I just posted a picture that I painted in a paintchat thing that I found on the net. I was expecting a comment on my painting and not on what software or website I was at.
Also, why are you so angry that you know where I drew my picture at? I was told where this url was at due to someone posting on the board in the past!
Do you have a comment on my picture rather than my not reading that paintchat software instructions?
thanks |

I'm sorry but you pointed out the thing that I was upset ABOUT. People aren't supposed to give out the address of paintchat, and the moderator should be contacted if you want the address. That's why www.drawsomething.com asks for a password when you try to get into the main site. The blame in the end should go to the person who posted before you. I may attempt to contact the moderators of paintchat in order to rectify any newcomers. I appologise for hijacking your thread. |

Its ok. As a matter of fact...I never even went to the root of that domain, so I had no idea that you needed a password. I never joined drawsomething.
I asked what was paint chat in the past (because I always heard about it in the past) and someone gave me this EXACT url. So I didnt know it was such a big deal...I didnt know you had to join...I didnt know there were any rules.
I just went to this url and the java script loaded and I started chatting and painting. It was fun and this is my first painting there....I never painted with paint chat before. I did not mean to break any rules.
So I am sorry if I upset anyone. |

Hey Rob,
That's a pretty cool portrait considering it was done in paintchat!
Now, about that nose picking in public. |

Robert... it's ok, you didn't know. Don't sweat it, you're not the only person who has been given the direct url to paintchat and none of them would know either. But now you know for the future
I think perhaps your portrait looks a tad "droopy". I believe the decreasing the downward slant on the eyes would help a lot. Nice work for a paintchat piece though, that program can be difficult to use sometimes! |

www.drawsomething.com is where you should go if your looking for access. Sorry if I sounded offensive, I know I overdramatize some points. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable in this thread, I am truely sorry for that. I don't blame you specifically or anything like that, it was more of a general warning. I am glad you edited out the address bar though, the secret shall die with us all .
Okay I'll give a crit. Good for Paintchat. I like the lighting, but everything seems a bit "Straight". For example, your hair never hits any shoulders, so they continue to run down forever. Even your beard seems to go straight down, along with your narrow expression. This idea can actually strengthen a piece of art if done correctly, but I'm not sure about the mood you were going for. Nice pic overall but not much else to say about it since I can't decipher any specific idea from it. It conveys and traquil emotion. |

andromeda, robert, there's a reason we put a password on drawsomething.com (that's where paintchat is) and it's because back at the beginning, people would come on, and there would be people drawing, and they would just for the hell of it, decide to draw all over other artists's drawings, and never stop untill they got bored.... now I think you can understand why people do not want the paintchat public... thankfully that isnt happening again quite yet. |

The thing is...I didnt even know there was a password. As I said earlier, I got the EXACT url from someone. I never even WENT to the root of the domain. So I had no clue that it was password protected or anything.
Again, I said I am sorry that I did that and it wont happen again.
Andromeda, I would like to give you the url..but as you can see, its not possible. This must be kept to the highest secret!!! hahah
Just kidding, I guess we will have to ask for membership. I would like to do things the right way.
I dont even know if I am allowed to give you the main domain...you are going to have to ask someone else. I do not want to step on anyones toes...You know what I am saying?
hahaha, I am even scared to post here anymore...I dont really get very many critiques anyway. Just seems to be flames or someone saying something that has nothing to do with my image...but I do get a few critiques and I thank the people that do
If anyone is interested in seeing any of my work...go here

I did everything except for the illustration (anime style) of an elf...Sam Liu did that, I colored it.
Oh well, I hope I fixed my mistakes and did not leave a bitter taste in anyones mouth. Again sorry for posting the url in the picture. |
