hey everyone.
Im new here .. kind of... Ive been looking at everyones art for a while now.. a year in fact but i just havent posted yet. I am currently working on my portfolio and was wondering if you could critique a couple sketches for me. I am about ot apply to a computer animation college. I took some other art schooling before.. but i want more... MWAHAHA.. so any help or whatever would be greatly apprecieated

I do have a few.. none are scanned though. And my life drawings are on big sheets of newsprint.. and my little 8x11 scanner just wont do the job. Ill post one of the portraits i did later on.

those are really cool. i was just wondering, did you use a blue pencil when u drew them? or did u add that afterward in ps or something? |

Nice Work Arkenoid!
I think your costume design is stronger than your character design right now. I like how you designed the whole out fit, including the shoes. A lot of artists (including myself) simply hate designing shoes. They either cover them up with something or they become a big blob generic shoe. You've come above that!
Right now both characters come across as having the same personality. You might want to try to create unique personalities for each character and try to make it come across through the design, the expression on their faces and their stance. Most characters in current anime and TV cartoons have this problem. They're all the same character with a different face (acutally sometimes they all look the same) and a different proportion. Usually only the movie industry takes it to the next level. Examples: Prince of Egypt, The emperors new groove, SHRECK(I love this movie), The Hunchback of Notre Dame and there's many more. But you get the idea.
Anyways, I think those drawings are awesome!

Add character to my characters eh? Sounds like a plan.. Might make them more interesting. Ill have to work on that

OH i forgot.. Yes i did draw them in blue pencil I picked up the habit when i studied clasical animation and I haven't been able to put the darn things away
