I couldn't find any interesting birding spots so I headed for the nearby lighthouse. The Jupiter lighthouse was originally made during the civil war if I remember correctly. It is a fully functional lighthouse too. I ought to take some night shots of it one day. It's cool to watch the light beams sweep the horizon.
Although you are allowed to go inside and tour the area, you can only do it at certain times with a tour guide. I didn't get there when they were doing the tours so all I got were a few outside shots.
So I figured I'd head to the beach nearby and see if there is anything intersting down that way. I didn't go to the more popular beach near here where you would see more people about, intead I went to the negative-cash-flow area where the wealthier people live.
Here is a nice example of negative-cash-flow. I wonder how much this would set someone back?
I guess if you can live on the water like this money isn't too much of a concern.
Is it me or am I the only one who thinks all these rich condo type places are just kinda creepy? I mean, look at this pic:
It is all clean and landscaped and....desolate. Something just seems wrong.
Anyway, here is a big ugly condo on the beach.
Just in case some rich person starts to drown from too much gold jewelry...
I was getting bored and it was way to hot out to head over to the more populated beach so I just went home and played some video games.
oh, one last pic
Sorry to disapoint those hoping for a bunch of pics of girl in bikinis at the beach. Maybe next time.

I love the colors of that lighthouse!!
I don't think rich-people condos are creepy. After having seen dirty, chaotic, digusting places in other parts of the world, I WELCOME neat, clean, and rich. |

Took these a few weeks back on a Saturday. I was supposed to go on a birding trip with my wife and some friends but I had to work.
Here is my desk at work. Much like my desk at home, neat and orderly.
So what do I do, you ask? Among the multitude of other tasks I use this big laser thing:
...to make laser-cut stencils for the printed circuit board industry.
Not really all that fascinating, I know. But this is what I do. It is better then chem-etching stencils since I don't have to deal with all those nasty chemicals. The only thing the laser uses is Oxygen.
300 psi of refrigerated liquid oxygen in big ol' tanks....no smoking please.
But enough about work crap. I wanted to get out and do some birding of my own. Granted there really wasn't much nearby to find but I was hoping to get a pic of a Scrub Jay or something. And if that didn't work out I'd at least make a visit to the lighthouse. So I got on my bike and out the door I went.

It isn't so much the lack of people that was creepy, because that aspect of it I find quite refreshing. It was something elswhere....elusive. Perhaps my spidey senses where tingling due to a disturbance in the force. I guess you just had to be there. |
