Hi, I just registered today. I've been coming to the site for quite some time now but I was always intimidated by all the very good artists here. Today I figured I might aswell get some contructive critism from good artists and hopefully learn some things. Anyway, heres a 3d model of a Famas which is a type of gun, the model itself took me a few hours. I hope to get some feedback on this. Thank You.

that looks awesome, it looks like you stuck a toy gun in a scanner and scanned it |

I use 3d Studio Max 4, if anyones interested.
The way I work is a get a side view reference of a gun I'm going to model it, and I look closely at the picture, so this way in the end i dont have to go back and forth to fix something or redo something because the way i did it wont let me easy change or add things.
I've been modeling for a few years now, ever since Half Life editing became popular. I'm really into game editing, and i hope to do it as a proffession. Really wouldn't mind sitting on my arse making models for games |

Well at first I was going to model it for gaming purposes, but then I decided to see how well I could do it using high poly and detail so I just went with that. The reason why its not as rounded as it should be is because I only had a side perspective picture to use. |
