The first batch is very cool. Especially the red light and that bee. |

Thanks Monkey.
Its actually not a bee, its a locust skin left behind. They are really cool, they stick to almost anything. Great for applying to unsuspecting siblings (or in my case, boyfriends... muhahaha).

Very nice - the first batch shines in many different ways; the variety of images and the collection of hues and textures they deliver is what works for me, and they evoke emotion in some respects. Great stuff!! What kind of camera did you use?
The bee or locust is actually the molted skin of a cicada. Where I grew up in south Georgia they were everywhere. They can be easily attached to clothing, hair, etc. and were a great tool for practical jokes. _________________ - Tom Carter

Tom - Yes... I grew up calling cicadas locusts... same thing around here. They are everywhere. Pretty neat things, although they are annoying in the summer. _________________ My Art.

The thing I hated most about cicadas was their screaming cries into the hot and humid days of summer. To this day I hate that sound. I don't know exactly why, but it drives me nuts.
So - what kind of camera - digital or emulsion? _________________ - Tom Carter

Really good photos, love them
I was wondering... when would you delight our eyes with some wideangle photos showing more than details shots? _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

Tom - Yes, they are very annoying in the summer. Like I told someone else, they seem to make the air feel 15 degrees hotter. My camera is a Minolta Dimage 7. Digital. ^_^
Rag - Thanks! The only reason that I take so many close-up shots is because they area I live in is ooogly. Couldn't get a good picture if you paid me, so I zoom on interesting things. _________________ My Art.

Just lovely. The insect ones reminds of City of Lost Children's cinematography style. |

That's a Texas truck if I ever saw one. Needs a "Don't Mess With Texas" sticker on it.
You know Jezebel, it took me a while to figure this out, but your quite beautiful. You remind me of Uma Thurman.
Nice Pics. |

*beams* Thanks for the added comments you three. Uma Thurman huh? I sure don't feel like Uma Thurman... except maybe for the big feet. Hehehee.
Here are a few more random shots:

These new photos are even better
I really love the raven series, great color, light and mood.
Also the berry photos are great light studies.

Y3z y3z teh little aesthetically interesting things nobody gives a shit about are really worth wasting time upon, now ain't they. I tried to explain dat to my homiez but tehy want to do pr0n for Playboy because every other kind of photography is like rubbing teh chum to Roseanne, tehy say. I cannot concur wit dat and prefer seeing pictures of you showing you covered in foil. good job. _________________

On the metallo-sphere picture, your camera and tripod are especially visible, and almost the dominant part of the picture. Hiding stuff like that is tricky, but you might want to try getting white, black or grey poster board or butcher paper and cutting a hole in it.
Try underexposing bright colors by a stop or so to bring out the saturation. Specifically, I'm talking about your basket o' fruit.
Might just be the digital camera and it's measly 256 shades, but it seems to me that your black and white pictures are lacking dynamic range. The picture of your cat is a fair example of this: the shadows don't have enough detal, and your highlights are washed out.
Other than that, you are progressing towards fantastictude at light speed, yo. _________________ QED, sort of. |

I remember you posted some reference shots, which I saved to my harddrive. Would I be able to use these photos in some of my designs. I'm a student by the way, it's not like I want to sell them. Because these pictures are amazing!!! I know that it's all about how you take the pictures rather then tools used but what kind of camera are you using? _________________ Mike

Thanks everyone
Impaler - You know whats kind of funny is that most of the things you critique me on were intentional. Mainly the contrast on the cat and the reflection in the sphere. To each their own I suppose.
Some more snaps:

Your photos are excellent. You truly have an eye for capturing images and show special promise in framing and subject. As you stated, to make images as beautiful as yours even though you say you live in an 'ooogly' place, shows you know how to look at things from a different perspective. A very important trait for photographers, cinematographers, and directors. Keep up the excellent work! _________________ http://www.digitaldreammachine.com/ |

really like them. can't talk about them as photos, because I don't know anything about photos, but as pictures, I dig them. the compositions, the mood some of them convey. etc... I prefer your latest "open" images to your very detailled close ups, but that's just me old taste, who cares thanks for posting them. _________________ ---

Someone told me I always looked like a "good faerie" in my pictures... but we can't have that now can we? Here is the "bad faerie" version of me.

Jussi - It is indeed a mighty vase, for it has yet to be destroyed by the little fur monsters inhabiting my home.
