I saw this a couple of days ago. If the rest of the animatrix films are going to have this kind of attitude i am going to start rooting for the machines.

To be honest i don't like this whole turn of story... i would just rather have the machines be bent on domination from the start... I thought the matrix was an analogy to the System - the world order etc. Now it all goes in another direction... where we are the scum and they are just trying to deal with us in what ended up to be a rather humane way in coparison to how they were treated. Blah blah blah...

Asfar as I know these aren't supposed to be the same as the matrix. they're just inspired by the matrix. Sometimes Eating Waffles inspires me to tear down street signs.

I like the way they echoed footage from the holocaust, vietnam and korea.. etc. Quite well done, IMO. In this film the machines were definitely protrayed positively, but I'd imagine that was all planned out. They might depict the moral collapse of the machines in the future episodes. They can't just shift so violently from "Yay, machines!" to "Yay, humans!" without any explanation.

I'm looking forward to the rest.

When something falls into japanese hands, they always twist it around and make it something else ...
the story has your basic anime theme written all over it .. but i dont mind ... the animation is excellent ..

Novacaptain: thanks for pointing that out ... =] .. Mars eh ? ... thats next month .. will be waiting for next release.

Oh it was? Crazy, I had another link at first and that one wasnt updated and then I found another one yesterday, the link above.
ok I hope to be earlier with the next anouncement or if one of you guys find the next episode before me please post in here. Smile

The 2nd episode was so good, maan, almost better than the original.
I mean they are using the same Camera angles and stuff as in the MAtrix. A very impressive animation.

heya the_insider

These episodes are not to be confused with the real Matrix, these are animated and are called Animatrix.
But they still do rock a huge amount and the third episode was also super.
Check the link at the top post and you will know what I talk about. Smile

the animatrix is made up of ten animated short films, which are released free around the web

btw that one i saw on TV coming out with Dreamcatcher, the final flight of the osiris, is it part of the animatrix or simply a preview of reloaded?

Flight of the Osiris is a short film which is part of the animatrix. if I remember well, it's the third one that was made public. I didn't say it was episode 3 ! I think it got out at the same time as Detective Story.
Anyways... I don't think I'll spend 10 bucks on a so-so movie just to see Flight of the Osiris Smile
Unless someone can make a good review..?

stephen king sucks anyway
probably a marketing ploy by the studios(whatever, dont blame me if what i said is wrong....)

anyways, so is the entire animatrix about this detective story?

Matthew : ehehe

Godwin : no only the third one that is available on the animatrix website is. They're all seperated stories. (well so far at least)
I think I remember the catch line from the trailer a year ago... I think it went something like this : "7 directors delivering their stories inside the world of The Matrix" or was it "vision.."... anyway. As much as ppl love to complain about the whole think I think it's great and would love to be able to produce anything of that caliber.

FYI: if you go to Dreamcatcher to watch the one there you may want to leave before Dreamcatcher starts.

Dreamcatcher went along with the book nicely... so if you read it you will understand why I said to leave.

Oh and it waas good. I liked it, but was the first one I saw.

Wow... the 4th free episode was beautiful... yet disturbing.

I think I can say for sure, I don't want to ever mistreat robots. A war with them doesn't seem very... winable.

Of course the actions of humans over the course of the 1st and 2nd part makes us look like dumb monkey idiots who had it coming for themselves.

Anyways I prefer Asimov(ian) robots... they are a lot nicer... if a little controling.
