The Hamster Alliance - My Oh My Are Those Big Beets!!
Yes, Feast, You Will Enjoy!!
The song is kind of like Funky Big Beat - But Hamstery, ya know? - Still actually Filmscore-esque. Big and Epic.
What's in here that might entice you to listen:
Funky Bassline, LOTS of bass, Myself on the one's and Two's*wikywiky* scratching, Afrikan Percussion, Big Phat Drums, Some Funky Synths, Big Lead, Nostalgia, Funky Wah Guitar, amiga sounds, BOOM!!! Ruuuuushhhhhh, Did I mention Bass? Smooooth.
So, yay? =)
Thanks for listening - or atleast for reading my thread! |

Good sh*t, btw i saw on TV that there was some SONY contest of young filmscore producers, and they had some cheezy young lad who won and got to direct an orchestra for some movie.. You should check out those SONY contests, they usually have some good ones including for music. |

Directing an orchestra would probably be one of the most intimidating experiences of which I can think.
It's not nearly as easy as it seems. _________________ QED, sort of. |

Giant Hamster - OMG Great ... it's in my playlist now . I love the description and I totally agree.
I saw that there are tutorials on your site. Can you recomment some basic ones? I have that Buzz 101.bmx and I'm gonna read it soon.

BPM - Beats per minute. this is how many beats there are per minute...duuu....i have no simpler explanation. |
Hilarious did you write that?
What generator(s) did you use for that great "Funky Bassline"? What's a good one for a piano?
Buzz is cool. Matthew the link in your thread ... with the button (... oops right, you didn't see that button ) it's my first try in Buzz. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

Hey - Andy - Yeah, I wrote that. =P
Thanks for listening!
Umm..asfor the funky bass - I used the Jeskola XS-1 which is available at www.jeskola.net - read all about it and it's features. It's amazing - and there's a new version coming out in a few days or so which will boost it from godly to ungodly.
With the XS-1 I loaded up a Funky Bass Soundfont I found online and set it up with a few of the settings and w00sh - instant funk.
Oh - and Pianos are the same way - the XS-1 with the "Piano Grand Steinway" soundfont loaded. Soundfonts are .sf2 format incase you're wondering.
Anything that's 'organic' like strings, flutes, harps, guitars, and such I would reccomend doing with soundfonts as any other way is just kind of odd and not very logical. It's like expecting a trumpet to sound like a 303 synthesizer...Sure - maybe with some processing you could get it, but why not just use an actual 303 instead. So yeah. a good place for soundfonts is www.thesoundsite.net |

Giant Hamster - Great I'll ckeck it out. Lots to learn
Matthew - Peace ! There are trackers like Impulse Tracker. I'm not sure but I think if you load songs into one of these trackers you can export the wav files which the author used for the song and use them in your software.
But what do I know ... I know so little
Maybe someone can confirm that? Or disprove? _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

Up until a day or 2 ago, I hadn't checked out any of your other stuff, because generally other people don't make or listen to what I like.
And then I downloaded it.
And then I smacked myself.
I loved it, and felt pretty stupid for not checking out your other stuff. |

Fucking wicked. I've just recently become an obsessed fan of your music. This has been my favourite thus far.
The ending reminded me soooo much of "Yie A R Kung-Fu" for the Commodore 64. Great stuff. |
