Hey, Dhabih, what exactly did you contribute to the Quake2 Addon released by Team Evolve? (if you were involved in it). I just heard some rumors, and I bumped into an outdated site that had you listed as an artist for TE.
Also, could you share more of how you and Guthrie became "friends?" (before you got hired at Valve, you said that you were invited down there to visit the Head Quarters by Guthrie. He must have trusted you a lot since he let you check out Half-Life, which was still in full development at the time.)
Just wondering. A lot of us are wondering how things like that are possible. You're a lucky man, I hope you know that. |

Initially was started out spending a lot of time helping with some drawings and textures, but as time went on i had less and less time to do anything for them. What's mine in the final product (Zaero addon for Quake2) was a couple skins and textures and thats about it....one or two of the monsters were from concepts i drew. But overall the end product didnt have too much from me.
I knew Guthrie from back when he and Wedge were running Quake Command. I had offered to help do textures for their Quake Kart mod and did a couple, but they got hired away to valve before they really got into that. Halflife was almost complete by the time i went to check it out so i think thats why i was able to see it. If it was earlier in dev they woulda been more hush hush maybe, i dunno.

Hey, thanx for sharing, man...
Most people wouldn't.
I'm "working" on the Fist of the Imperium HL mod with Phil Carlisle from Team17 doing concept art and textures. It's going really slow right now since Phil works full-time, but I gave it a try since any game-related projects look kewl in a portfolio.
Check out the site at: http://www.nukeplanet.com/imperium/
There isn't much on there, but there will be eventually.
