FYI:
The week following Christmas I ordered an item from TigerDirect.com and paid extra for 2nd Day Air. When I checked the order status the next day (to get a tracking number), I was informed that the item was backordered and would likely not ship till end of January. Ok. Forget it then - I'll cancel the order and take my business elswhere.
2 phone calls (which I was disconnected from after nearly 45 minutes of waiting. really), 4 emails and a week later, I've gotten NO RESPONSE from TigerDirect.com. Nothing. Zilch. They took my money and I'm stuck. My only saving grace at this time was to contest the charge made through PayPal, so I may get my money back - eventually.
Let my misery be a lesson to any of you that decide to do business with TigerDirect.com; I hope this post saves some of you the bullsh*t I'm going through right now.

I had a similar problem with Amazon.com... I ordered an item about 10 days before Christmas. The order was taken, and then I was informed several days later that it was backordered until the end of January... so, I found one locally and bought it, figuring I had three or four weeks to cancel the Amazon order... I brought up my order on screen and discovered that I was not allowed to cancel it. I had to wait until it was delivered and then return it... So, it did arrive several days ago, much earlier than they indicated and now I'm trying to figure out how to return it and get my card credited.... what a bunch of misinformation pain in the arse! _________________ HonePie.com

Hey Phil, I've had the same issue with Amazon, but my experience in the past was that once you process the cancellation, you can then print out a postal barcode label (paid postage) to adhere to your package, and my CC was credited back.
The thing that pisses me off the most about TigerDirect is "no customer service". When you engage in a monetary transaction with a business, you expect customer service, but in this case there's been none; I have made repeated efforts to contact these people yet have been completely ignored. Hey guys, I have had some problems with that as well this year, and so do some of my co-workers. On the other hand I work retail and also a side job for fed-ex, and I know how bad the inventory was chewed up in stores this year, and also the shipping process was pretty brutal. On your side though, I don't know why they wouldnt have been able to tell you before hand it was backordered. Inventory stuff can be a pain in the ass and a huge/har job but as a company they should be on top of that a lil better and have a better return policy. I deal with newegg a lot and have had great luck with them, as for the 2 day shipping method, there is never a promise on these items that close to christmas. It will never be posted on a store/company website... Figure at least a week during the holidays no matter what type of shipping you choose. Just thought I would post my $.02 for a future reference... Good luck getting everything and your returns as well. _________________ -Kyle |

Since then the order was successfully canceled, but that was about 6 days ago and I've not received a refund yet. I perfectly understand the nature of retail business both off and online, but it's the lack of communication that really pisses me into the stratosphere. If I lent you $50 and you said you'd pay me back tomorrow only to come back to me and say you had difficulties - it'll be a few days more before you can pay me back - no problem, but if you couldn't pay me back right away and then avoided me, well . . .
There are courtesies that should be adhered to in the business world, and right now they're lacking. _________________ - Tom Carter

That's SO weird.
I've been ordering from Tiger Direct for over 3 years now, everything from extension plugs for my UPS to two wireless PS2 controllers, which arrived this afternoon.
Always had nothing but fast, efficient buying. And we're talking 3-4 orders a year.
It's sad you got screwed on this order, but maybe it was just a bad combination of the time of year, who knows? Hopefully you can get it straightened out, although I can CERTAINLY understand your refusal to ever deal with them again. One truly horrid experience can alienate you from the best of companies. _________________ Life is short. Expect nothing, enjoy everything.
