From my experiance with them in the shops in Akihabara the tracking isn't that good. Sure it's cool 'cause your drawing right on screen but, for me, it's just too hard 'cause it lags waaaay to much!
I would suggest an Intuos 3 wacom tablet A4 size. That's the one I got and it's FANTASTIC!! No lagging and beautiful size!! But that's just my opinion! _________________ Say whaaaaaaaat? |

Hey Seth,
I have a similar laptop myself to the one shown above, a HP Pavilion zv6148EA (2 GHz, 60 GB HD, 512 MB RAM, no tablet screen though). It works well as a desktop PC replacement. I tend to use it myself with PS running along with a browser, winamp, messenger programs and apache server software.
Photoshop runs well on a canvas up to around 3000x2000 pixels or so, any larger than that would probably lag quite notably, especially with large brushes. Painter is hell with canvases of that size; the latter being a reason for wanting to upgrade to one gig of ram myself. The RAM upgrade costs are quite nasty for new laptops, however. One GB of 333 MHz SO-DIMM for my laptop has a retail price of around $225+ USD. _________________ What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

That HP may not have a Wacom digitizer. Only TabletPCs marketed as being "penabled" have Wacom screens, and only those ones will work with Photoshop/Painter.
That's not a bad price for those specs, but I would make sure that it's got a Wacom digitzer if you plan to use the included stylus for digital art. You could ask at http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com if you can't find out elsewhere.
Toshiba's entry-level R15 (which I have) sells for about the same price now, and is Photoshop/Painter compatible. Toshiba and Fujitsu are pretty much the leaders for tablets, though I've heard good things about the durability of the HP ones (I just don't know if they use Wacom screens).
edit: also, there's no appreciable lag on any recent tablet, aside from the response time of the LCD, which can be somewhat slower than a desktop monitor. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

If you have $1,300 USD to spend, of course you could get a more expensive one. The laptop in question on the eBay auction seems to be a bit cheaper than the usual retail price of the Pavilion zv6000 laptop series. But then again, I'm not in the US.
Hmm, I suppose the following link may help a bit. I suggest you browse the site if you haven't seen/used it before.
