Hey fellow bretheren! Greetings. Brother Eudoxus with you once again, forgive me, but I feel it a neccesity to post my poorly drawn scrawls. I've been experimenting with a manga style of toning -forgive me if ot looks a tad too blotchy!

Anyway, here it is:

Question: Why should all toning be smooth?
Is it part of some unified conformist conspiracy to make alll art the same.

OR does it just look NiCe?

cheers!

That's a cool style... Anatomically it looks great, and the odd colorization creates a nice effect.

Looks cool, the background effect kinda washes it away though! The anatomy looks good, except from the nose to the chin! Nice look though, looks like it should go in one of those lady magz.

the rendering looks cool, but the face really would need some work.. the nose looks too big and the lines left and right of the mouth have too much weight in my opinion, she looks strange with that strong lines there. Des she wear trousers? If not you should make the lines flow there a bit more fluid and curvy. (a bit too jagged now)

Cool one though. esp. like the arms and her upper body

I looks nice but I have to agree with nex about the face. and doesnt her right arm seem to be a bit to muscular?
Maybe its just me being jeoulus.

eudoxus-i thought your name was exodus for a minute there...Heres a couple of things you could do to help the image a bit-

1. when drawing sexy babes, dont use a lot of line work on the interior of her form. Meaning, the lines in her face the rippled folds on her left side, the lines at her hips and the line on the left leg. THose lines actually age a person, not make them look better. I use to have this problem all the time. I know the muscles are there, so I should identify them. The problem always was that the woman I drew now aged 10 to 20 years because of all the additional line work involved in the drawing.
Like the laugh lines around her mouth, only draw the lines next to the corners of the lips, and maybe a bit of line coming off her nose, but dont connect them together. The mouth area of her in the image looks about 15 years older than the rest of her face.

Her flesh tones are too orange. It has the same coloration as Synj's Orangyfat guy. Use color photos to get the skin tones accurate, till you have used them enough to mix them without reference.

Tones don't necessarily have to be smooth, animation proves this. Especially Japanese animation. the values are always broken into three, either in the shadows or in the lights. THe actual color, a highlight, and a darker value of them. Tones dont have to be smooth, just within a same tonal family...I like the style you are working with, a combination of Japanese animation and european comics...keep up the good work...

her face looks like the old woman in "something about mary", the one with breasts like saddlebags. Too many sunbeds I believe. Looks good apart from that though, nice style!

Does anyone know the secret formula? :
