That system should be quite adequate (well, more memory wouldn't hurt of course), unless you want to do mega hires stuff in Painter.

About those jaggies when drawing curves... This is really a FAQ on this forum, though concerning Photoshop. Apparently it's a problem with Photoshop's brush engine, so getting a 1.1GHz Athlon or an USB tablet won't do anything to fix it. Painter however does some fancy interpolation stuff to get smooth curves. As for PSP6, I have no idea whether its jaggy lines problem is similar to Photoshop's, so I don't know whether a hardware upgrade would fix it, sorry...

I'm currently running an overclocked Celeron at 450MHz with 128MB RAM on Windows 98. My HD's range from a 1.0GB 5400rpm Fast SCSI-2 to a 6.0GB 5400rpm ATA66 drive. I have a Wacom ArtZII 4x5 drawing pad, and a Sony 19" Monitor.

Is this up to snuff for drawing with Painter 6 or Photoshop? And if not, what would you recommend?

I've been using PSP 6, and when drawing curves, they render as sequential straight lines because of system lag. I don't want the same thing to happen if I get more expensive graphics software.

Thanks,
Yakjuice
