Hi to all, this is my first post (not really, I posted already one pic in the self-portrait-thread, but probably nobody has seen it, cos the thread already was quite old). Unfortunately Im not allowed to post most of my stuff because its from a game still under development. this one was made just for fun. I got lost too much in details which are even not seen in this resolution but on the other hand i wanted to print it out large, so it was necessary.

Wow! I like it!
You weren't kidding about the detail.
I'd love to see more of your "for fun" work when you do more.

I love this. My advice would be to dullen the small green lighting on the background a bit, because in places they tend to lead you away from the focal point, and compete with it, because of its contrast. I would maybe either make them a different or darker color, or lose them altogether, thus making the focal stand out more, and much more interesting.
Fix that and I love this even more :) Good work.

Hi there, welcome to the forum btw..
looks nice, and there is really a LOT of detail there.
I think you made the same error that I make all the time.. there is not enough depth in the picture.. its hard to tell what is in front and what is back.
I have been told to change the detail level according to the distance from the camera *ehm* viewer (damn too much 3d lately) and blend the color in the distance to the ambient background color.
Maybe you want to try it too.
Is there more of your work you can show? Looks really interresting..
[edit] you really can stare at this picture for hours and always find something new

wow, thanks for the quick replies. I think, scoop and nex your suggestions go into the same direction, very constructive critique. I already tried to lower the level
of detail in the background and to give it a
blue-isher, less saturated colour, but obviously not enough. Ill try to work it over again with your points in mind. thanks again. |

I really like it a lot. Reminds me of Loki's
work with the 'airship'.
I agree with the comments about the background
needing to look more backgroundish.
Can't wait to see more of your work!

thanks dude and youre definitely right, lokis lodge series strongly inspired me. in the end I wasnt sure, if the airship-like
design still fits to the scenery but then I thought the lack of detail at the ship adds
to the impression that it must be really huge. |

To make it more dynamic have some rays from the sun shooting in front of some of the buildings and structures. It's a wonderful picture, very nice choice of colors

But anwyazy. I like your picture but somehow the leftmost building feels kinda out of place with it's colour , and shading style.

silber! Im looking forward to the graff-movie! To all: the comic book XOCO (maybe not known out of europe) is by french artist OLivier Ledroit and highly recommended! I like his later work SHA even more. If you are able to get your hands on it, check it out! to silber: erwarten = to expect ; ) |

wow man, thats real nice, and i think you might have lied when you said u were a newbie... anywayz the only thing i would wanna fix in the picture is that its hard to distinguish foreground from background, it looks as though its a whole bunch of pictures just pasted together, add more depth and lights, also if you wanna make it underwater, make the background get cloudy like it does in real life, good job and keep it updated!
