FYI -
I have a friend that worked there - but when I mentioned him getting me a job, he didn't suggest working there.
Apparently because it's such a prestigious place to work for, and people from all over the world compete for jobs, they don't really have any incentives to work there. You get your own little cubicle cramped into a windowless building - even the director's offices are tiny as hell, they don't pay terribly well, long hours, tight deadlines...
He said mostly people put in a year to say they've worked there and then get out.

Ill tell you two things..1-I have a friend there, and he has told me essentially the same thing Newt said...and 2-5 years ago I interviewed there, back when I had very little experience and got by on desire and helpful contacts. I was offered a job to fire off renders and catalog them in Unix on a shift from 11pm until 10am that paid less than 19k a year. I declined and worked for a cinematographer and then a few other places before where I am now.
I still regret it.
DOH!
By the way....its pretty darn cool in there..didnt know it from the outside "Kerner Optics" it says on the door..but when you open that door and see the background matte painting to "Hook" and a 6 ft stormtrooper staring out at ya..oh yeah..I was in the right place.
