Wow! That is nice, even when unfinished it looks almost real in a sense. Good use it making it really look outdoors.

Hey thanks guys I'm happy you like it!
I got the idea from a small photo that my
gf's sister let me pick out of her photography booklet. The shot she took is from egypt i believe.

I've tried to get a warmer feel, and i'm glad the actual perspective that i was aiming for worked out. Now it's just the matter of getting wicked looking texture on the opaque parts of the scene. I don't know how to make textures and add them onto a piece though.

Perhaps someone can make a little tut, 2 or 3 pages explaining how i could go about doing that.

Plus, any suggestions?
It's still in the works...

Nice image as I already stated.

I don't see however what that black square on the ground is, as there is no object to cast that shadow in your image. Maybe you took out an object in the painting but kept the shadow? Oh, and the pine trees in the back don't seem appropriate, hehe. =)

Overall, nice so far! Keep posting the updates!

ed - another shadow problem in the shadow under the roofed portion doesn't follow the light source angle, there should be about 6 feet of sunlight penetrating under the frint portion of the roofed part.

I can sketch out the corrections and post it when I get home... I don't have access to my web account from here...

cheers!

Frost - thanx for the input, i'll take
it into consideration.
Although I think the 6ft of light source under the roof part might be wrong.
Because the light source is coming from the back of the building towards us on a right angle. So that's why it's so dark underneath.
Look at the line angles of the shadow.

Then again, maybe it looks like the light is coming from another angle? Ack...hope not.

post a sketch pointing out these things, and tell me what you think.

as for the shadow on the ground, i still have to work on that...
_____________
Posting again
here's an update on the image

Ok thanx
well i fixed the shadow up
i'm pretty much done working on this image
the detail in the rocks are just too much right now, because i've already started 2 other images. One will be a continuation of this image. Hope some of you out there like it, i put alot of work into it. I'm no big gun artist...but i tried.

Here's what I meant. I hope you don't mind. I traced a few lines real quick to get the angle of the shadows as basis, then "fixed" the shadow, I think it's right.

cheers,
frost.

Don't mind at all Frost
thanks for pointing that out
I new something looked wrong.
Well then, i made the changes
I hope everyone likes the image.

I'm working on a continuation to this
i might make a series of dust looking images, with indian heritaged people...because I'm lucky enough to have a load of reference photos from egypt and other countries around the world. I'll hopefully work on some scenes from greece as well.

Also look for 'Frozen Dog' my new image - kind of a joke about that lonedog image i made, where there weren't any footprints in the snow. (on my site for those that don't know)

anywayz thanx again Frost!
