This is my second attempt at coloring. I did this rather quick. I may go back and work on it a little more, but I was just trying a different technique really. The lineart is provided by Rinaldo.

Neato. Looks good to me - the red and oranges are a little vibrant, but if you're going for comic style that's fine.
Also - the color blooms on the helmet/hand read sort of as yellow airbrush mistakes instead of highlights.

Neato. Keep 'em coming.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Looked good at 1am. I'll fix them later tonight.

Chapel like what you've done, my only problem is with highlights. I think that the armour could use more highlights so that it looks more metallic, as it is it looks flat to me.

I was going to reply to the E-mail you sent but here is just as good.

First off I'm not a big fan of overly bright colours. (Which may tarnish my oppinion a bit). If you have a look at the bright colours you're using They are almost at full saturation and the values are very high. If you convert to B+W you'll see that most of the tones are very simmilar. have a look at those cube tutorials that fred put up and see what is said about values. I don't think it should be any different for this kind of work. I am struggling with values and colour at the moment and I've found it extreemly useful. The gold the beard and the gloves are the most standout examples of what I'm talking about. I like the rider beast, saddle and the armor. the gold I think is best not as a pure out of the tube yellow either.

I had a go at colouring but got bored of it pretty quick. I'll have to wait a while until I'm not sick of that pic before I colour it.
Here's a crop that shows how I would have done the gold. not much else is even near compleation

I don't really know what advice to give. I'm pretty shoddy with colour myself. I would tend to shy away from the really saturated and very light colours. some of them are going to die when converted to CMYC anyway. those sort of colours are highlights etc. you can see that in the face you can't get any highlights happening becasue the base tone is very light. If I was to use those colours I would't try and do much modeling. it just turns out looking smudgy to my eyes, keep it flat.
I think it would look very nice if not for the super saturation and brightness IMHO . I like where it's going.

I'd like to hear what some of the colouring gods have to say on this.

Yeah, I noticed that while I was doing it, but I just wanted to get a quick finish. I'm going to redo it. I want to change the armor up. I want people to just rip it a part. Only way I'm going to learn is if someone says something.
