Hey,
This is a logo im working on for a friends open-source project. The software's called panda (what it stands for escapses me at the moment). Anyhow he wanted an eastern feeling font and well a panda of some sort. So here's my stab at it. It really needs a touch of color I think. A bamboo stalk or two is all i can come up with. Any ideas on where i could throw some color in? Suggestions on the composition? Crits? MMmm tater' tots are done. Here's the pic:

I like the first font the most. As for colour, I got no clue. You'd have to experiment to really see what looks best.

I like the first font as well, not too extravigant and perfectly eastern looking
it's a panda? where are you going to push the color? maybe in the eyes if it's looking at us.... what's the project about? |

The drawing of the panda looks a little strange around his lower legs. I think if you draw his claws a little different it might help. It doesn't read right.
if you do use color look for some books on eastern art. I am pretty sure they used a very limited palatte. Only one or two very light colors.
And the type? I would go with either the top or the bottom type face. The one in the middle should go. |

Hey all,
Thanks for the replies. I've decided to go with the top font. I feel its the most read-able and still has that easternly feel. Here's what I accomplished today. They wanted a portrait:
Not sure on the composition and all, but what do you think of his face and 'speed goggles' ?

It looks kyoot! About composition, I would try to put the panda's head above the text and size the head to fit the width of the text (or vice versa). Or at least align the head with the text on a horizontal plane. |
