Thus far you have a good start. Some tips on learning to draw. Look for any method that makes you the most comfortable. Try to visualize organic forms as basic shapes such as cubes, spheres, and cylinders and such. If you can draw and shade "3 dimensional" versions of these you can most likely draw anything else. Try to break the form down and tackle it piece by piece.
I used to be fascinated with comic art and spent a good portion of my childhood years mimicking it. I'd recommend maybe picking up a few comics and just draw what you see on each page. Start out by copying what's in front of you until you get a better understanding of how it's done and feel comfortable enough to move on and start your own pictures from scratch. In my opinion this is a good way to pick up on different drawing and shading techniques and might even lead you to find a style that suits you.
Also, your images do not have to look like everyone elses. Your characters and general forms don't have to match up with what's already been done. Feel free to explore and try out new things. Even try simplifying the form in the final image. Look at anime and related art forms. alot of anime is very simple and cartoonized. Everyone has exagerated features and there isn't much detail cluttering the image.
Again I emphasize that you might want to start out copying perhaps your favorite comic book artists or check out a few anime sites. After a while you should have no problem laying everything out on your own.
hmmm, maybe even pick up some magazines and draw from photographs (but the shading and lack of outlines/lines might be hard to start with) |

There really isn't enough here to start a critique up. Finish the face, head and body if you like and we'll take it from there. It's hard to get a feel from eyes and a nose. Although it's not a bad start. |

I personally find it impossible to do line work with a tablet. It just doesn't "Feel" right. If I'm gonna draw lines, I do it on paper.
When I draw on the computer, I start out by laying down the basic colors and values... I'd describe the process a bit more, but it's pretty much the same process as in Craig's lovely tutorial.

Anyway, I just figured I'd mention, if you're having trouble sketching with your tablet, try paper. It's a much better medium for that style of drawing. |

Took the liberty to work further on your image..and show you how I work to create a face. Hope I havent insulted you in anyway. Didnt finish it..just..aded a bit. as you see, making a rough shape is important..and then going over adding finer details. And I like that cartoon style myself. I learned to draw from superman comics...John Byrn.
anyway..here is my result:
