Ok, i drew this pic a while ago and i decided to do it again in photoshop. I don't feel to strong about it, i kinda like it better as a pencil drawing.
Anyone got any comments good or bad, maybe some to make it better. Also, i did a quick background, i wanted to use similar colors to the rose in the middle, does this help or not? Any way, thanks ahead of time if i lose this post in the sea of posts by tomorrow.

Well, I think this compositions weakest point is the fact that it's pretty simple. Although it's sorta neat to look at!
I don't really know what kind of look you're going for with this, but if I were doing it I would probably make the sun shape into a mirror. Give it a good gilded gold texture and an interesting reflection or maybe even a "vision" in the center.
For the background I would either make it look like it was hanging on the wall of an old castle/dungeon/library/whatever... OR I would make it look as though it were floating in some mystical space.
Right now I think it's pretty flat, work on shading the edges of the sun a little more to make it pop out.
If you don't feel too strongly about this piece maybe you should work with it some more? Obviously you have some feeling about it, otherwise you wouldn't have scanned it, colored it and posted it up here right? Try playing with it some!
You know as an ink drawing you could prolly sell this design to a tattoo artist! |
